Loved this place
Our room in Ode was absolutely adorable and very cozy. My sister and I came for the Taylor Swift concert and it was the perfect place to stay for us. Check in and check out were both a breeze, and they were able to help us get a parking pass for the city printed out very last minute.

The owners made the visit super warm. We really enjoyed the experience, especially the rooftop patio. It was reminiscent of the Dunns Josephine in MIA. Room 3 was spacious and full of amenities.

Erica was a great host and let us check-in early when the room was available. Cynthia did a great job preparing the room during our stay. Great location as everything was walking distance and a beautiful room. Would stay here again!

This was a great place to stay. All new and trendy things in the room and a private rooftop deck to hang out and relax. The greeter was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again!

I love it when women.
Staying at Ode is kind of like if your cool older sister invited you to stay with her in the city - but better, because you don't have to crash on her futon. Tucked away in Little Portugal but on a diverse, fun street, Ode is a hip and chic small scale stay with a big presence. From the art covering the street-facing front (shoutout to @lapirie on instagram) to the stunning art inside (my room featured a blown up photograph of a beautiful couple that made me swoon) to the light art installation immediately upon entering, this charming spot takes what a sterile, cookie-cutter hotel can be and flips it on its head. The rooms were well-appointed - Smeg & Samsung appliances, comfortable linens, every surface spotless - and the little touches (an ionic blowdryer rivalling the one I paid too much for at home, and branded under-eye patches for a DIY spa vibe) put it over the top. I wasn't in town for an Ode event, but following their socials you'll see they're more than just a hotel: they foster community. Ode is black woman owned, family run, and a true gem in both the neighbourhood and in the city - and I can't wait to return.

Charming hotel with personal touches
Ode is a beautiful, personalized and comfortable property in the heart of Little Portugal. Our stay was amazing, from the small, thoughtful details in the room, to the communication from the hotel, to the helpfulness of the staff. We wished we could have stayed even longer because it really felt like home! On the first day, our shower drain was a bit slow, and the maintenance team was quick, professional, and effective in helping us out. Erica and her team were a dream and provided us with recommendations of what to do in the neighborhood. We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be back!

Stay like a local!
The room was stylish, comfortable and functional. I was in town for a work event and it was nice to have a place to rest that's also close to so much. You can walk out the door and feel like a Dundas West local with all the bars, coffee shops and great ice cream joints right there. I also appreciated the thought that went into having good quality soaps and shampoos as well as an excellent and easy-to-use espresso machine, that made getting ready for a busy day that much more pleasant. The owner and the staff were also very responsive to my needs and quite friendly. I will for sure be staying here again for any future work events in the city.

The room was lovely with everything you could want. However being right on Dundas Street, the streetcars kept me awake most of the night as the pillows rattled when they went by.

6/10 Good

I love that this is a family owned, female owned and black owned business. That is a big reason why I selected it and wanted to stay here. However there are a few things that made the stay a little subpar. Number one, the check in situation is very strange-- i had to be in direct communication with owner via text, from which they then texted me a door code and told me which room number I was in. It was unlocked with the keys inside and this made me feel a bit unsafe knowing my door was only locked by a key and very close to the entry door to the street. There is no additional lock on the door so I put the coffee table in front of the door every night for extra protection. It felt more like an airbnb. The noise was also a bit of an issue, as construction started at 10am with hammering, and music from the bar next door was blasting loudly in my basement room way past 2:30am (this was a tuesday night). There is also a card game about sex foreplay in the room-- I'm totally in support of being sex positive, but it made me feel like maybe my room was also a sex dungeon lol. Overall I think this is a great affordable place if you need a place to stay last minute. But being a female alone on a work trip I felt a bit nervous but I would stay here again if I wasn't alone, and considering the construction isn't all the time. Just want people to know what to expect!
