I stayed two nights. The first one was in room 224 and it was very dated and tired. Needed paint and general maintenance. The worst part of it was the mattress. I woke up a few hours before I had to get up and noticed my back was sore. I saw it was saggy when I walked in the door and I investigated further. It was manufactured in 2011. I looked up what most hotels do, and Google said 4-7 years is normal but some push it to ten years, fourteen years is too old. I have no idea when they purchased it but when a bed starts sagging, that’s a good indication. The second night I asked for a different more upgraded room. I ended up in room 100 that is right by the breakfast area. All through the night I heard people hanging out there chatting like they were partying. The room was slightly better condition but the mattress was just as bad with the same 2011 date on the tag. There were no side tables for the bed, which my other room had. That’s awkward with a phone as an alarm on the floor. This room was almost $200 because it’s close to the airport. I asked about the shuttle to JFK airport and does it run every half hour, the person at the front desk said yes. Clearly she didn’t understand my question because it does NOT. It’s once an hour and I’m lucky I caught my flight. Also beware, the shuttle takes you to the airport rental car return facility. You have to find the air-train to get to terminal. It dropped me off and I had about a mile walk to get to the Delta terminal.
