I really want to love this place, but it's not quite there yet. It's such a cool property with good bones and a ton of potential, but needs some further updating.
The rooms: Spacious and the AC, while perhaps a little loud, worked great. The bed was new and updated, new comfy linens, nice fluffy towels. The carpet needed an update, and as other noted, there was a small modern coffee maker, but no coffee was provided in-room. It wasn't the cleanest room, but it was definitely the most economical room in walking distance to the campus. We got coupons for free coffees in the Swim Club coffee shop, but despite wandering around for 10 minutes on the Sunday morning of literally CU move-in weekend, we couldn't find anyone to dispense the coffee, so eventually left. Seemed like a good day to have the coffee shop staffed.
There were no pics of the pool area on any of the websites, so I didn't know to bring a suit, but some reviews mention it being quite large and cool, so i'm bummed i missed it. The pool table/entertainment area is really cool, but needs music or something? I felt like i wasn't welcome in that space.
Pros: the clerk graciously gave us an early check-in which we really appreciated. Parking was free and plentiful. The room was quiet! They've maintained some of the old school broker feeling in the lobby -- that doesn't need updating, it's so cool!
If you are familiar with the chain of McMenamins in the northwest, this could be just as fun a draw with a little help!
