Wonderful place to stay
Some of the friendliest and kindest staff I've ever had, with a simple and easy check-in/check-out process. Also very delicious food at the pub downstairs as well. My bed was very comfortable as well, and the room was very clean. Overall, I'd gladly come back to stay if I ever visit again.

RED LION KILSBY
We were made very welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The regulars in the Pub were also very friendly. Room was clean and met all our needs. The food was also very good and inexpensive. FIVE stars all around.

2/10 Poor

Loud music shook the freezing cold room.
Pub was ok and we ate and the food was good. BUT we were shown to our freezing cold room and told we have live music tonight you might want to join us. We did for 30 mins after our dinner but after a 3 hour drive we wanted to get some sleep. The music shook the room until 11.30, then the staff were loud and noisy in the corridors as the staff office is next door to many rooms. The heating went off at around 10.30 and it was very cold. Overall a decent meal but one of the worst nights I have had in a hotel. Avoid weekend nights in case of loud music.

Ok place at reasonable price
Room was clean & tidy but could do with some TLC. Missing shelve in shower, broken furniture. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only criticism is no room cleaning was done on the day between our 2 night stay.

Made welcome. Very enjoyable one night stay. We will book again when we are next in the area.

2/10 Poor

The most inhospitable place I have ever had the misfortune to stay. Noise from downstairs bar area could be heard in the room pub quiz we could here every question well enough to take part😘

6/10 Good

Disappointing
Room was ok, attention needed to wardrobe (door needed fixing). Other workmen staying there were banging around outside and making noise / shouting/very loud until after midnight on 3 occasions with no regard to others staying there. In the morning lights worked but no electric for some reason for kettle / tv / lamps etc but thankfully shower was hot regardless and with decent towels. We didn't expect much at the price but wanted at least a decent sleep which we didn't get as they woke us again just before 7am doing the same. A shame it didnt work out as was looking for accommodation to use in the area occasionally. We won't be returning.

Recommended!
Really enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion and the food was delicious / beers kept well too. No breakfast available but comfy and clean rooms with coffee and tea making facilities. There is a community general store to the rear of the property which is handy!

Red Lion experience
The pub is a family run concern. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I particularly enjoyed the 'Open Mic' evening. The room was clean, comfortable and well reaourced - i.e coffee and tea tray.

Very clean. I've stayed here before but since then the rooms have had a revamp - new carpet, new shower door etc. Very comfortable.

6/10 Good

Cheap but could be better
Whilst the overall pub/restaurant was very attractive and popular, the bedroom we had (room1) was very small, with very little space or furniture on which to place our clothes etc. The en-suite shower room was particularly inadequate as there were no shelves or surfaces on which to place toothbrushes or toiletries (no toiletries were provided other than some hand wash. Furthermore, the basin waste was partially blocked as it took ages to empty the washbasin. However, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the price of the room was very reasonable; other bedrooms may be much better but I would not recommend a stay in room 1

No food on Monday or Tuesday
No food available at all on a Monday or Tuesday. No Breakfast or Evening Meal. Was hungry when I got there in the dark and had to drive to find another pub. Place is ok but I'd never stay there again.

A great setup!! The area is really pretty. The food is UNBELIEVABLE…just go for that nothing else. The room was comfortable, however, it was so noisy and lots of banging doors until after midnight (on the Wednesday night), which meant little sleep was had. So if you’re going to stay and need a good nights sleep or get up early, maybe not for you. If a late start is on the cards, then maybe you can have a few drinks and enjoy the noisy environment. Staff we great and very friendly and the families and couples that come from the local area also seemed nice. All in all a very good place, just the nosiness of doors….maybe some anti-slamming or rubber pads could be fitted to make it a 5 star stay!?

Live band didn’t help!
The hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious enough, the only downside was a live band on outside on our first night right underneath our window, the bed and floorboards felt the vibrations and after travelling all day and wanting to sleep, we were unable to do so until the band stopped which was after 11pm. We had no prior notice of this except for a board outside, would not have stayed if we had known this was a possibility as we woke up the day after with very little sleep!

Lovely welcome, clean, warm comfortable room. The only problem was, I was unable to eat at the premises on Monday evening this time of year. Apparently they start serving.evening meals again on Monday evenings come March time.
