Unfeasibly lovely place with more well-preserved, genuine Tudor architecture and beautiful scenery than I've ever seen anywhere else. Very friendly people, wonderful pubs, beautiful gardens and public open space with enchanting countryside at hand

This is my first time staying in Shrewsbury and didn't realise it was so big. So many independent shops, bars and restaurants and definitely need to come back. Also loved the boat trip with Sabrina Tours and lovely food at the Armoury

In addition to all the lovely shops and attractions (visit the market) there is a very welcoming sports centre in easy walking distance which has a 50m pool and gym. Pay as you go. Almost as good as a pool on site.

The town is very hilly but walkable. Don't go past an alleyway without looking in. Some real gems easily missed. Two nearby attractions worth checking out - Ironbridge complex and Attingham Park.

Excellent compact medieval town, perfect for a short break. We especially liked the Sabrina cruise.
"A cheeky last minute booking at a great price including breakfast. It was our first time in the area and this hotel did not disappoint. The check-in was quick and easy, the hardest thing was remembering my car registration for the free parking! The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful too. She informed us about the bar and restaurant opening hours and when the very generous buffet style breakfast would be served in the morning.
The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and the room had air-conditioning. The shower in the bathroom was nice and hot and powerful too with good sized fluffy towels too. The tea and coffee making facilities in the room were the usual sachets and UHT milk, so not the best, but we knew we'd get a decent proper brew in the morning with our cooked breakfast in the restaurant so that wasn't a problem. The hotel was busy for a Sunday night and even though the carpark is a good size it was still quite full when we returned after an afternoon in Shrewsbury ( which is a lovely place to visit with plenty of character and only a ten-fifteen minute drive away). The restaurant was also very busy at breakfast and all seats were taken when we arrived but thankfully the helpful staff directed us to the lounge area with extra tables and chairs set out as an overflow. The breakfast was varied and plentiful with a choice of cereals, pastries, cakes, fruit and yoghurt and of course the obligatory cooked breakfast too. Num num."
"Stayed for a wedding function, staff exceeded expectations from the initial check in, attentive staff, excellent customer experience. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options."
"Staff were excellent both at check in and any time of the day. Breakfast was very good and the lounge area was very comfortable. The hotel is in the middle of Shrewsbury so access to all areas is very easy . Good internet access and the bedroom comfortable with a bath as well. Evening meal the restaurant was also good. Would recommend this hotel."
"Really enjoyed our stay, hosts very helpful and friendly. Next to the train station so this is excellent, but never heard a train whislt in the room. Close to town center."
