I recommend hiking the loop on Tubbs Hill. We began at East Tubbs Hill, then hiked about 80% of the loop, stopping to take the 12:30 p.m. sightseeing boat from Independence Point at CDA Resort (arrival needs to be by 12 p.m.). Finished loop after.

I was in town for the NCAA basketball tournament and chose to stay in Coeur d'Alene because it was quiet and had easier access to more amenities than Spokane.

"very convenient location. walking distance to convenience store and pharmacy, and very close to several restaurants. In house restaurant and bar with reasonable prices, good food, and service. Included breakfast buffet is wonderful with a little of everything. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again."
