We had an amazing stay here. I booked this place due to location and the previous reviews. We were delighted. The staff is amazingly friendly and efficient. The were decorated nicely and most importantly the bed was comfortable! We had a lunch and 2 breakfasts in the restaurant. The meals were not overpriced and were quite tasty. Without a doubt, we will stay here again if we are in DC.

We stayed at the Tempo with our kids and had a great stay. The location was great for exploring the city. This is one of the only hotels I’ve seen offer two king beds which was a huge bonus, not to mention the beds were super comfy! The hotel was clean and the staff was super friendly. Their espresso martini at the bar in the best one I’ve ever had! Richard providing excellent service in the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again!

I always try to stay in nice affordable hotels that sometimes lead to disappointment but this was a very nice hotel that was worth every penny. I really enjoyed my stay in this room, the room felt modern with no carpet (which I enjoyed), the headboard was leather (easy to wipe), and the bathroom had a modern shower head with a handheld shower which was great. The only part I had a problem with was the shower door and floor did not connect well so no matter what I tried the floor got wet. I...

My stay with Riggs Hotel was very enjoyable. Upon arrival we were greeted with the vallet on what to do. Very helpful!! Easy check in! Great location!! Only thing I was surprised about was that the bed did not have a fitted sheet? Leaving guest to lay on a plastic encasement? When I asked about sheets, they brought 2 more flat sheets to my room! Very nice! All in all we had a great stay! Already booked again in August!🙂

Our stay was great and the location is perfect as we were there for testing at MedStar Georgetown Medical Center. We were able to cross the street, and the hospital entrance was right there. The hotel had nice decor, and it was nice to see something different than the standard hotel room.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Washington
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Washington is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a fulfilling experience that allows you to explore the city’s key landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions, it is recommended to stay for at least 3 to 4 days. During your budget-friendly visit, you can enjoy museums, monuments, art galleries, and beautiful parks, as well as partake in local theater and dining options. This timeframe offers great value for money, making it an ideal choice for those traveling on a budget.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Washington, visit the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel options as your travel date approaches. To enhance your savings, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications for flash sales and exclusive last-minute promotions. Additionally, Smart Shopping serves as a handy comparison tool within the app, allowing you to evaluate hotel prices and amenities effectively. This way, if rooms become available or prices change, you'll be among the first to know, making it easier to seize a last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in a Washington hotel. If you're interested in unique accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it’s on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you potentially save on your trip.
Consider your location: Staying near major attractions or downtown areas can be convenient, but it usually tends to come with higher prices. To find more affordable options, think about hotels located in less central neighborhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you want to visit. You might also consider independent hotels a bit farther out, as they can often provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
